Aware of the importance of trauma and post-traumatic stress (PTSD) getting recognized, particularly in the case of people uprooted from their homes (and often from their countries), I have written Trauma and Uprooting, as one means of getting the message across.  Though trauma has really only been in the news over the last two to three decades, it has naturally been a reality for much longer.  Thanks to the extremely valuable work of researcher-practitioners who authorized me to include in this book some of the most important elements of their own publications, I have been able to give a reasonably rounded account of PTSD and its repercussions on people’s lives.
